I am writing a history of my Olson family. My cousin was a participant in the St. Paul Winter Carnival in the 1950's. She was killed during a robbery in California in the early 60's. I had lost track of her when she married and went to California. When I was growing up I thought I was told she was a Carnival Queen but today while doing my research on their Past Queen website I discovered she was not. I was wondering if someone could find her name on a roster of past carnivals as I don't remember her last name. I am sure that she was in the parade & I saw her wearing a tiera as she went by her house at 53 W Summit Ave and Rice Street. I was sitting on the porch and remember her waving at all of us. She was raised by my grandmother because her mother had died. I didn't know or wasn't concerned about such things as last names because I was quite young so last names didn't mean anything to me. I am one of the last surviving Olsons that cares if our geneaology is documented. Please help me find an answer to this riddle.
Her first name was Marjie, probably Marjorie. She was a stewartess on an airlines that often flew to Florida. I remember that because she would bring or send baskets of fruit from Florida.
Any and all information you could give me would be deeply appreciated. Do you retain the original applications? Does someone remember her? She was very beautiful.
